1. Texas Rangers at New York Yankees (Tuesday, 7:05pm ET)

New York and Texas will continue their four-game set between division leaders on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium, with the Rangers' Matt Harrison (13-6, 3.31 ERA) set to take on the Yankees' Hiroki Kuroda (10-8, 3.24 ERA). Righthander Kuroda is 0-1 with two no-decisions over his last three starts but that's mostly due to bad luck – he allowed only six runs over 20 2-3 innings of work in those games. Lefthander Harrison was lucky to avoid a loss against the Red Sox last time out, as he allowed five runs in just 4 2-3 innings pitched.

2. Wyndham Championship @ Sedgefield CC (Thursday to Sunday)

The golfers of the PGA Tour get their final tuneup chance before the start of the FedExCup playoffs this week at the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. Webb Simpson, the defending Wyndham winner and 2012 U.S. Open champion, will be in the field this week for the tournament, which gives golfers one last chance to qualify for the tour's playoffs; only the top 125 FedExCup points leaders at the conclusion of the Wyndham Championship will move on to play in next week's Barclays.

3. Pittsburgh Pirates at St. Louis Cardinals (Friday, 8:15pm ET)

The Pirates and Cardinals will begin a three-game series in St. Louis on Friday night, with those two both trying to chase down the Cincinnati Reds in the NL Central division race. The Pirates took two of three games in St. Louis when the teams last met in a three-game series at the end of June, but overall the Cardinals are 5-4 against Pittsburgh this season. On the latest NL Pennant odds at Bovada the Pirates were at 9/1, with the Cards at 8/1.

4. New York Giants at New York Jets (Saturday, 7:00pm ET)

The Giants and the Jets will meet in an all-New York battle (in New Jersey) as the National Football League's preseason schedule continues on Saturday night. The Giants were beaten 32-31 on the road by Jacksonville in their Week 1 preseason contest last Friday night, with the Jets falling 17-6 in Cincinnati that same day. Mark Sanchez completed four of his six pass attempts for 21 yards for the Jets, while Tim Tebow completed four of eight pass attempts for 27 yards with an INT. Last preseason the Jets topped the Giants 17-3.

5. Pure Michigan 400 @ Michigan Intl Speedway (Sunday, 12:00pm ET)

It's the Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway for the drivers of the Sprint Cup Series on Sunday, and that's good news for Dale Earnhardt Jr. as he won the Quicken Loans 400 on the track back in June. Tony Stewart, Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle, and Jimmie Johnson rounded out the top five drivers at the Quicken Loans 400, with Jeff Gordon, Clint Bowyer, Juan Montoya, Marcos Ambrose, and Kevin Harvick making up the rest of the Top 10 that day. Kyle Busch took the checkered flag at the Pure Michigan 400 last season.
